Alternatives
Best Lovable alternatives
Lovable turns a prompt into a web app with a database, auth and payments behind it. It meters twice: build credits to make the app, from 0.50 for a simple task to 1.70 for a complex one, then Cloud credits while it runs. People look around for one of two reasons. Either the credits go faster than the work does, or the thing being built is reporting on data that already exists, which is a different job with a different tool. Here are six alternatives, grouped by the job they suit.
How to read this
Flitch publishes this page and is one of the tools on it. Prices are the vendors’ own published figures, and every entry says what the tool costs you as well as what it is good at.

App builders
Bolt
Free tier, then Pro $25/month- Best for.
- Developers prototyping a front end in the browser.
- Where it wins.
- Full-stack scaffolding, with the code there to take away.
- What it costs you.
- You get an app, not a reporting layer over your data.
Base44
Free tier, then Starter $16/month billed annually- Best for.
- Internal tools put together by someone who is not an engineer.
- Where it wins.
- Entities and auth are built in, so an internal app arrives fast.
- What it costs you.
- Reporting on data that already exists is not what it is for.
Replit
Free Mode, then Core $20/month- Best for.
- Developers who want an AI builder inside a real IDE.
- Where it wins.
- Agent, editor, database and hosting in one browser tab.
- What it costs you.
- Core is $20 a month with $20 of model usage in it, and heavier work is billed on effort beyond that.
v0
Free tier, then Plus $30/user/month- Best for.
- Front-end work that will ship on Vercel.
- Where it wins.
- React output that looks finished, with GitHub sync and deploys attached.
- What it costs you.
- $30 per user a month on Plus, metered in tokens, and the free plan allows 7 messages a day.
Retool
Free up to 5 users, then $10/builder/month paid yearly- Best for.
- Internal tools over a database, built by a team with some engineering in it.
- Where it wins.
- Components, workflows and database queries in one place, free up to 5 users.
- What it costs you.
- You assemble the app rather than describe it, and AI credits and agent hours meter separately.
Built around data you already have
Flitch
Free tier, then $20/month- Best for.
- Teams who want dashboards, reports, apps and workflows built from a description.
- Where it wins.
- AI on every plan including the free one, and every chart shows the dataset, columns and calculation behind it.
- What it costs you.
- SCIM and running it in your own cloud need an Enterprise agreement, and it does not build an app with its own auth and payments.
When to stay with Lovable
- The app needs auth or payments, which Flitch does not build.
- You want one tool for a product, a marketing site and an internal tool.
- You need a database you define yourself, with your own schema and migrations.
- The app has to write into other systems, not only read them.
Questions
Which alternative is closest to Lovable?
Base44 and Bolt. All three turn a prompt into a full-stack app with a database attached. Base44 is $16 a month billed annually, Bolt is $25 on Pro with the most generous free tier in the category, and Lovable’s own Cloud backend is the most complete of the three.
What if the app is really a dashboard?
Then an app builder makes you do the hard part twice. Flitch connects to the source, refreshes it on a schedule and generates the dashboard, report or app over it. In an app builder, that pipeline is code you write and then maintain.
Which is cheapest to try?
Bolt, at 300,000 tokens a day and 1 million a month. Lovable gives 5 build credits a day, Replit has Free Mode and v0 allows 7 messages a day. Flitch gives 40 credits a month with 100 dashboards and 10 integrations.
Do I get the code?
From Lovable, Bolt, Replit and v0, yes, as a project you can edit and host yourself. Flitch generates editable code in its own editor and publishes it for you, but it is not a project you take elsewhere. The trade is that the data layer is already built.
Can Lovable read my Xero or Postgres data?
It can reach them, through its connector catalog and n8n, but you build the sync and you own the aggregation and the caching. Flitch treats the same thing as a connection with a refresh schedule, which is why a Xero dashboard is an afternoon rather than a project.
